Just another day of madness in the kok, the guesthouse is beginning to crack me up, after the uber friendly faces of Sri Lanka, the lady that runs the Tavee where I'm staying is just brilliant - no task to small, no need for want - she'll just turn here nose up at the lot regardless and mealy sneer at you.. It put the fear of god into the first night, but I guess I'll just have to get used to that fact, she's already seen a million people like me and listened to the requests, and helped and assisted to a billion different request

And all for a Pad-Thai on your first evening of arrival..

Oh well, it's all an experience..

Just dropped my camera off at the thai canon service center for a well needed repair, I'm hoping that the damage done won't be that bad, prices or replacement are pretty high considering it's sooo close to where they are manufactured.. Still shows the use of the camera, didn't realise all but the 1st 3 digits of the serial number have been rubbed off! : )

Not really done much other than that today, checked out a massive, and I mean massive shopping center in the search for more junk to send home. I've never in my life seen such a sight, the whole top floor was just filled with little tiny cramped booths selling every phone I've even seen in my entire life and then some.  PSP with GPS adapters, the lot.. There are shops selling fake goods, next to shops selling real goods, it was total madness.  A shopping center with a market feel, ended up just people watched for most of the day, the locals turning trade, tourist with bin bags worth of gear.

This country is for the pure consumer, without a doubt. They love a deal here..

Beside from that, jotted a few more notes for the missing couple of months of the blog, should get around to updating that in the next week or so, also yet to get an estimated time frame for the camera repair,

So I'm stuck with the kok in defiantly..

Anyhow, here's an excerpt from an email from my Dad that made me chuckle, to note, he's always had a bit unease about me traveling..

--------
Dear John,

Glad to hear that you arrived safely in Bangkok.

Go careful with the diving. It worries me. Never take chances. Keep checking your tanks and your wristwatch. And come up slowly - those nitrogen bubbles are a bastard!

Right, lecture over! (I'm only doing what Dads are supposed to - it's in the contract about worrying.)

So the town is a dump, eh? Never mind. Don't get mugged.
