The trek was on, having attended a 'slide-show' / talk on the annapurna circuit in KTM, presented by a British trekker/photographer Chris Beale.  I managed to hook up with some few solo trekkers wishing to head up to the hills.. and away we went..

Sophie from down under and Mary from Noway, plus our guide for the trip Hasta (as in la vista baby)

Pokhara was to be our base of operations for the next 10 nights, the 6 hour bus ride to the west of KTM went with out a hitch.. the buses in nepal are mad, they probably on a heavy load take up to 80 people (mainly on the roof), goats, chickens and any other supplies that need shipping across the country..

We arrived mid afternoon, the temperture was warmer than KTM, but the slience was the thing we noticed most having spent more than a week in Thamel (Central KTM) the peace of Pokhara was warmly welcomed..

we booked in, got some food and readied the bags for the next 10days..

packing was a nightmare, carrying any weight over 10 days would be a pain but at 4100m it could be come a nightmare.. warm clothing and bedding was required, 1st aid supplies and not to mention camera equipment. 10kilo's (or there abouts) was packed, included 50 tablets of iodine for water purification! fun, fun, fun! makes anyone water (even toliet water) drinkable! Also makes it taste like a swimming pool!

An early night was needed, we all slept well.. 7am we set off (to the taxi stand - hehe)
