FYI, check out joe and mel's blog/photo site & of Alex is getting lost group on facebook for the otherside of the trans-sib stories..

With a 5am stop at Kazan and 2 locals in my compartment faffing about changing sheets, i had little choice but to wake and try and adjust to life on the train, would the rest of the journey be like this?

Anyhow, back to the previous day, having met up with a few other "Russia Experience" package purchased British (half-cheating) backpackers, I neighboured the compartment on carriage number 6 with another unkempt English man called Alex.  My compartment buddy for this leg of the journey from Moscow to Yekatingburg was a quiet man, and 2 chatting ladies. The very, very quiet man was in fact (as I was to discover later) extremely interested in shanderlears! Photos to follow, and it'll paint the picture more than my words!
