Hedgehog Hill, Gills Rock, Wisconsin

Gills Rock, Wisconsin, is not a formally incorporated village or town, it is the next stop on the highway past the village of Ellison Bay, located in the township of Liberty Grove,
and less than a couple of miles down the 'snaky' portion of Hwy 42
that heads to Northport Pier and the ferry to Washington Island,
which houses as many as 700 year-round residents in the middle of Lake Michigan.
Perhaps 50-60 souls live in Gills Rock year-round,
and a handful lived in a house at the top of a gradual rise that
was known only to its four or five inhabitants as Hedgehog Hill. At the end of the long winter of 1998, Kjersti and her friends Lexis, Lacey and Janessa spent a brief part of the afternoon
posing for pictures that now seem to celebrate being fifteen years old.
Nick and Joey have bit parts in this drama, as do Chris and Amanda and Maggie and Grandma and Grandpa Nelson.
