It's 9am in Samara, 31 degrees with 78% humidity. My fears that Costa Rica in the wet season might not be as hot have been unfounded. I think it's just about as hot as it can be without JF turning into an axe murderer. (It hasn't helped that our air conditioning in our room has been broken for most of our stay.)

But this is our last day here and I am ready to move on. Samara is lovely and probably just the right combination of tourist- based businesses. But, unless you have the money to book a tour everyday, your options are limited. Not that I would complain about just going to the beach and swimming for a few hours everyday - but, according to my family, I have problems idling (I believe Nadeige described this as me driving her cray cray in a previous post). Tomorrow we take another shuttle, heading to Montezuma this time.

Yesterday we kayaked to a small island that you can see from Samara beach. The trip out to the island with Nadeige in the stern seemed to be twice as long as the trip back. Once we got there the guides cut up fresh pineapple and watermelon before we went snorkeling. The island was literally crawling with hermit crabs. The scraps of the pineapple were thrown to a troop of waiting iguanas. This pleased Nadeige, given her current obsession with geckos.

Today we will surf (ok it's not really surfing when I'm doing it), eat all the food in the fridge, do laundry, and pack our bags.

The ocean looks a little like caramel latte; why the orange color? Good to see photos of the land and of course the gecko. Good thing it's not me with a broken air conditioner ( I could understand becoming the axe murderer.) Have a good trip to Montezuma and avoid Montezuma's revenge! We miss everybody! Gma W.
