The YHA was truly fabulous! Clean, bright and even had conference and reading rooms - not forgetting the colourful artwork on display!

The Adelaide Festival takes place during even years, so I timed it right for once - went to the Garden of Unearthly Delights - plenty of food and fair rides, so you get 2-4-1 on food! ;)  Elsewhere there was comedy, dance and music gigs etc.

I visited the Tandanya Aboriginal Centre - artwork including striking landscapes and sculptures, and hanging from the rafters were woven birds catching prey. There was also a good demo of the didgeridoo during a talk.

Ventured into an Oz Woolworths! 'the fresh food people' - bit like our Coop!

Took a tram to Glenelg with its sandy bay and posh marina with shops. Checked out the very limited art gallery (poor excuse for a craft shop), and the Bay of Discovery Centre with old sea-side memorabilia..

The opal museum was a good find - showing the tools of the trade, jewellery, plus boomerangs, didgeridoos and Aboriginal artwork.

Sniffed out the Haighs Chocolate Factory - bit of history info and watched the workers shape and wrap - individual chocs and of course the Easter eggs were being made by this amazing twirling armed machine - free choc much appreciated! :)

Found a small but gorgeous Japanese garden - very secluded with stepping stones and huge fish in the pool - all very tranquil.

Followed this by an early night before my Rock Patrol tour to the Red Centre!
