We stopped at Kennet River where we had lorikeets landing on our arms and even on our heads. Below us the ducks were after our lunch scraps and above in the eucalypts were the sleeping koalas! We visted Otway Fly Tree Tops for a walk within the eucalypts - fabulous views and the scent of the trees was overwhelming. Quick cuppa tea - very lucky as the power went due to the bad weather just as I took my first sip
On to the 12 Apostles for sunset - pretty much down to 8 now days due to stacks collapsing.. from the view point you can peer down the coast - each stack peeking round or above it's neighbours.
Stayed at this fab hostel in Port Campbell - with amazing toilets - they had sinks above the cisterns to save water!
Along the next stretch of coast we visited Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge (impressive land arch collapsed in 1990's) and my favourite two; Bay of Martyrs and Bay of Islands - really lovely as the sun rose and shone across the ocean and lit up the rock stacks.
We picniced at an extinct volcano 'plug' with tame emu's trying to grab lunch from our hands!
On to the Grampians NP - a breezy walk to the Pinnacle for a view down the valley - celebrating with fruit cake and a box of family biscuits. :)
Drove up Hollow Mountain for Silverband Falls - ochre stones and some face 'painting', and on to MacKenzie Falls - a wide terrace waterfall and lots of tree trunks lying around - evidence from previous floods.
En route to Adelaide we checked out some white kangaroos which was quite cool. Finishing the tour I stayed in Adelaide for a few days chilling!
