Well the flight went very smoothly and we landed in Mumbai ahead of schedule, found a hotel near the airport and hunkered down for the night before meeting Hannah & Do at the domestic airport the next afternoon which was cool. We've been in Palolem on the beachfront now for 4 days and can say that it's gonna be extremely hard to leave. The beach is pictured on our welcome image so as you can see it's pretty idyllic! We spent our first night in a bamboo tree house which had an ensuite down a ladder with a palm tree growing out of it, we opted the second day to move to a more sturdy place with a solid floor at the northern end of the beach which is nicer and a bit more quiet.
we have spent our days so far lazing on the beach and eating food, which is excellent and none of us have had bad bellies yet either. we have been served some spectacular sea food platters and curries that are second to none!
we are getting twelve hours of sunshine the sun rises at six and sets at six on the dot, you can sit and watch the sun set within about 15 minutes it is amazing going from sunshine to darkness in such a short space of time, and all from the comfort of sun lounger with a beer! i will stop soon i promise!!!
the people are very friendly and will do anything to help if they can, lots of haggling to be done but already getting practise in, have had the compulsery henna tattoo and bought two sarongs; thought i would get all the holiday cliches out the way early.
we are leaving here on saturday and heading south to kochi to hopefully go on a boat on the tranquil backwaters there so will make an update soon.
