Entry 2 of 3 | show all | print this entry

I spent a considerable amount of time for several months planning our visit to New Zealand which was at the end of January 2007 to the end of February. We aimed to see as much as possible.........we don't know if this opportunity will ever come around again!

Firstly we booked our flights through TravelBag in the UK and we chose Singapore Airlines as our carrier and flew from Manchester. I had used them before and the service is good for 'Cattle Class' as we put it! We opted for a 3 day stop over in Sinapore enroute to give us time to catch up and to see a bit of Singapore. This was my second visit and being as last time I stayed just off Orchard Road maybe a change this time so we opted for China Town area and the Furama City hotel.

The hotel is a short 10 min walk from Clarke and Boat Quay and only 5 mins walk to China Town, the 3 day stop over only cost a little extra and was well worth the extra money.

Of course Trip Advisor was a great source of inforamtion as were the many other web sites I trawled my way through for months. The research was worth every minute for the experience gained when we finally got to NZ.

So when flying day finally came we were ecstatic to be leaving cold England and heading for warmer climates!
