Well it has pretty much taken us until now to recover from the horrendous journey and subsequent sickness....Hev is now officially addicted to mate de coca which is made from coca leaves and is 0.2% cocaine. (it is for the altitude sickness). We have worked out that we travelled around 1000 miles on the bus with only a 2 hour stop off in Lima. I think that we must be MAD! We would definately NOT recommend it!

We have been generally bumming around Cusco spending time with Georgi which is lovely! It is nice to be a threesome and we are now JEVINA not just Jev!  We have also met lots of nice people from Georgi´s language school and volunteers. To celebrate carnival we all (about 20 of us!) went to Patrick´s host family´s holiday home in a little village near here...was so much fun and so very random, carnival here seems to basically be an excuse for everyone to throw water over each other constantly! In the streets there are constant water balloon and foam attacks! So in this village we all had war paint (well... hot pink war paint) on our faces and it was the gringos vs the local kids! The host mum was so lovely, she put on a lunch for us which was actually a whole pig! It was really good, although what was not so good was the pig brain we ended up eating as the boys tore the head apart...uggggg! There is also a video of one of the boys eating pig eye.

In an attempt to be cultural we went to a folk dancing show, which was...well...ok. Our favourite part was when all the men pretended to be birds and pranced around the stage like birds. It was VERY different from the dancing we loved in Cartagena!

We went to Pisac for market day which we loved! Beautiful little town surrounded by huge mountains. And we all managed to treat ourselves to a few select alpaca market things. So many of the stalls sold everything you could possibly imagine made of alpaca wool, so it was very hard to resist as Cusco is very cold!

We have also managed to get over our illnesses/ altitude sickness enough to sample the Cusco nightlife!

We really like Cuzco, it is so beautiful and we are more than happy to be spending some time here! We already have our favourite little coffee place and have become regulars at an israeli restaurant where we eat very smelly food, play blackgammon and also managed to get pancakes on pancake day!

Ooo and we bumped into two friends we made in the jungle which was lovely! We also saw Blaise who we lived with in Quito!
