This will be Part 1 of 3 for a mini-series on food. =) I will begin by sharing about eating times. Part 2 will be on typical foods and Part 3 will be desserts & other foods experienced. As I try new foods, I may retroactively add photos or update as needed.

Let's talk about eating times. If you're like me, it's easy to get into a rhythm of when breakfast, lunch and dinner usually are. In the USA, breakfast for me is typically 10am, lunch is around noon and dinner is 6pm. When I was in England, the eating times were similar. Mediterranean countries such as Italy and Spain seemed to have a different eating schedule. Breakfast was... well, whenever you wake up or combined with lunch. Lunch (if had) was around 2 or 3pm and dinner was often later in the evening at 9pm or even 10pm. In both of these cases, dinner is the heaviest meal.

In Chile, it's been a derivative of the Mediterranean but with even more flexible eating times. So lunch could be as late as 4pm and dinner at 11pm. Personally, I find it impossible not to snack on something in between because it's tough to wait so long beyond the habits I've grown up with. At some point, I could probably get used to it, but for now, it's still a struggle!
