Assalomu Alaykum!
I am finally in Uzbekistan!
I live in Qibray, a suburb of Tashkent (about 30 mins away) via marshrutka- public transport minivan style.
Things are still a bit overwhelming- but think I am adjusting pretty well to the food, blatant stares as I walk down the street, and the pit toilet situation.
There is no internet where I am living, so they entries for training (until the first week of April) will be sporadic. Next time I am in town, I will try and upload some of pics of my house, Tashkent, and Qibray.
We just finished our second week of training and first week living with our host families. My host family is super friendly and is very patient with my crazy Americanisms and lack of Uzbek communication skills.
Last night, us PCTs went to the ambassador's house to watch the Super Bowl and we all crowded around the TV to watch kickoff at about 330.
Thats all for now! Heading out to the market for lunch!
talk soon!
Salom!
