Carrie-soon to be vacationing in Japan, Jessy's older sister, RPCV Mali (2001-2003)
Jr.- Cab Driver
Carrie and Jessy enter cab right outside Carrie's apt.
Jessy: Grand Central Station, please.
Meter is at $45.
Jr.: Oops...was left over from my drive to JFK. I don't think you want to pay 45 bucks to cross-town.
Carrie: No thanks. It used to only cost $35 to get to JFK...
Jr.: Yeah, that was totally killing us.
Pause.
Jr.: So you ladies heading anywhere exciting?
Jessy: No, not really, just home to Westchester.
Carrie: Well actually... I am going to Japan tomorrow and she is going to Uzbekistan Tuesday
Jr.: What would make a young lady such as yourself go to Uzbekistan?
Jessy: I joined the Peace Corps so I am heading there for about 2.5 years.
Jr: Kennedy got you good, didn't he?
Jessy: Sure did.
Conversation goes on and Jr. asks many questions about Peace Corps and Jessy and Carrie fill him in.
Jr.: I bet your mother would love it if you brought Vladimir home for the holidays....
Carrie: Oh and they are Muslim, too.
Jr.: Christ.
Cab pulls up to 42nd street entrance to Grand Central Station
Jr: What you big city liberals wont too for some attention. The only things us conservatives are sending over to Uzbekistan are missiles.
Carrie pays cab.
Jessy: Thanks. Good night.
Carrie: Good night
