Simon and I are in town for our friend Matts birthday party. We had a great time. His Paraguayan family is very nice and we had a lot of compare and contrast, US PY discussions. Several PCVs came too, so we got to catch up on everybody`s life and work.
Im a little sad that our travellogue still says, 2 percent of the world traveled, but we are working on that. We are planning on going to Machu Pichu for our anniversary next year, and I want to go to Brazil and Simon doesnt so we are trying to talk some friends into going on trips with us seperately. Then, we think we are going to cash in our plane ticket to the states and take the bus home with a little boat detour from Ecuador to Panama in order to avoid Colombia. I`m a little sad to miss Venezuela this way, but I cant complain, we would visit something like 16 countries. Yay!
Im a little tired of being in site, but mostly because its just a very small community. I enjoy what I do on a daily basis (bake cookies and make cute stuff for the classroom). The teachers Im working with are great. They are coming with us into Asuncion next week for a Peace Corps workshop on needs assessment and project planning. I cant wait. We get more language training too, though I have been embarassingly lazy about studying. I do try to seek out conversations, so that should count for something.
Simon writes about his life:
Jessica refuses to leave the internet cafe until I write something.
OK, I tried. At least you know I love you all enough to stay here to write to you when Simon is breathing down my neck.
Ill try to send pictures next week from Asuncion.
Best wishes.
