So, a last-last-last-minute entry before I head to the Philadelphia Sofitel for Peace Corps staging, the 2 day "pre-orientation" where I'll get vaccinations, sign forms, and most importantly, meet the other volunteers. On Tuesday, we'll fly 8 hours to Paris, have a couple-hour layover there, and then fly on (11 more hours) to Tana (the capital.) Whew!

To everyone to whom I owe emails, phone calls, etc (and that is many more of you than I'd like to admit), I apologize. The last few weeks have been a whirl: visiting friends and family in 5 states, traveling around Costa Rica with my family (which was AMAZING) and just now starting to pack (which I suppose surprises none of you.) I can't write any more if I hope to sleep at all tonight, but I will say that I am excited and nervous and anxious and terrified and excited and sad and excited. PLEASE send me mail; it will make so much of the nervousness go away to realize that I can still be in touch with the people I love at home. (And, contrary to popular belief, I will not have email access. If you can't handle anything but email, type an email, print it out, and put a stamp on it!)

One more time, my mailing address:

Jessica Gordon, PCT

Thanks, and wish me luck!

love, Jess
