Khao Yai National Park and Khorat
On Sunday we had a lazy morning to catch up on some sleep, then at 12 we checked out of our hostel, had brekkie and took a train to a place called Pak Chong. After walking around for 10-15 mins (and being stared at by all the locals) we found a place to stay that cost the equivalent of £4 each for 2 nights. Monday we woke up early to take a bus to the national park. We got dropped at the gates and had to hitchhike the next 14K to the visitors centre. The first pick up truck stopped for us and took us all the way (stopping to take photos of monkeys en route). We paid for a guide and did a 3 hour trek through the forest, seeing gibbons swinging through the trees and then...not much else haha. Was still good fun though. After that we took ourselves off and found a little waterfall to sunbathe by. We then managed to get a ride all the way back to the town we were staying, just by sticking up our thumbs!! Amaze! We had another early night ready to take the train to Khorat at 6am! Now we're sat here in their amazing giant shopping mall killing time before taking the night (VIP) bus ;-) up north to Chiangmai.
