What's that loud ticking???

After dinner last night, we all pretty much collapsed and went right to sleep. There seems to be some sort of sickness going through the group - thus far I haven't gotten sick, knock on wood!! It seems to be a 24 hour thing, and most people end up with a fever and the sniffles. (Ross, I sure hope it wasn't your cold that I somehow gave everyone!)
Anyway, this morning we woke up rather late - I woke up a bit earlier at 7:30, but forced myself to go back to sleep - after all, there is only so much one can do during the day, so as much time as possible should be taken up sleeping. hehe. Yes, there are actually quite a few hours in the day on this cruise that are a little "extra".
Jenn, Kate and I went into town - Cozumel is the quintesential Mexican tourist town, not unlike La Paz. Pretty nice and built up and pretty clean, and just crawling with tourists! Of course I can't really complain, since I'm one! We went shopping again, and got some more good deals on silver...Kate and I got a necklace for 20$ and Jenn got one for 16$..which was originally quoted at 25$! So I think we did pretty well. I also bought a really cool Aztec calendar. The most popular version is in fish bone, but that just kinda creeped me out - I totally don't want fish bone hanging on my wall! It's really cool because it has a pretty in-depth explanation of the calendar on the back, which is something that was missing from every other one that I saw.
While we were looking for a place to drink, we came across the zocalo - and hundreds of children dressed in the most increadible costumes! There were lions and turtles and bears and just the most adorable costumes ever! They were really well done, so I took a couple of pictures of their cute costumes.
Then it was beer time! We had cocktails and beer on a patio and just soaked up the sun - so much so that my feet have a nice sandal burn / tan.
Back on the boat, it was snack and hottub time. My skin needs a bit of a break, so I decided to do some writing instead of hanging out by the pool today. My face is pretty red - much more burnt than it got on my entire Mexico / Central America journey! I guess I'm not being as dilligent with the sunscreen. :(
