I found out from a guy at our hostel that people at the hostel just down the road have gotten dengue fever. It is SOOO time to move on from here!!
I spent most of the day avoiding the sun and sweating in the shade. It's really humid today as it's been raining on and off, but it's done nothing for the heat. If I hadn't been so badly burnt yesterday, I'd really enjoy being at the beach right now!
So here's an inventory of what hurts today: Knees from repeatedly scraping them along rocks while surfing. Arms from paddling, ribcage and hip bones from resting on the surfboard for so long, abnominal muscles (generally from being used Haha!) and my butt from the ferocious sun burn. Guess that's what happens when you stick your white ass up out of the water for a few hours!
Leanne and I did got to the other beach today though to watch the really good surfers...they're increadible! It's really something to see. Most of the people around here were waiting for the waves to die down a bit before they went out...it's that crazy. Glad I was at the beginner beach!!
I'm off to get a bite to eat, hang out with some friends, and then catch the overnight bus to San Cristobal.
Costs: 35$ bus ride, 3$ in taxis, 15$ in food.
