The bus to the main station was super easy, and got myself a first class ticket with all the money Iīve been saving on food. Itīs only about five dollars difference, but wow itīs worth it. The volume control for the movies works, the a/c can be turned off, the bathrooms are a delight, and it doesnīt stop in every fucking town...oh, and we take toll roads, and get lunch! Rockinī. And I read a Spanish newspaper. Didnīt understand everything, but got the gist of most of it!
I arrived in Mexico on time (what??? am I still in Mexico???) and navigated the most amazing metro ever. Mostly itīs amazing because itīs huge, and 20 cents. Yes, 20 cents each ride. And you can transfer. So you can go all the way across the city for 20 cents. I could NOT be happier. OHHHH and they have a little museum thing down there between transfer stations...itīs about a three minute walk with really cool pictures and stuff. Very fun.
Mexico city, as you approach it, is the most increadible urban sprawl I have ever seen. Itīs no where near as dirty as I would have expected, and generally seems very manageable. Imagine, though, a starfish in a bit of a valley spreading up mountains...thatīs what Mexico city looks like. Itīs something.
Overall, itīs been a good day. Although I noticed that travelling seems to really take it out of me emotional...guess itīs īcause I have nothing to distract me from my thoughts.
Tomorrow itīs to the ruins, and then some bell ringing thing here, then saturday is the parade!
costs- bus 50$, metro 20CENTS wooohoo!!! Bus in Guadaljara 90 cents. Did I mention I didnīt pay for any food today? Life is grand.
