Seeing the sights of Rome!

Hey everybody!
I thought this might be easier than writing emails and keeping track of everything that way. I dont even know where to begin! Right now I am in Rome and have been traveling around the city for the past two days. I have seen the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, to name a few of the sights. It is absolutely amazing here. I am just in awe of the Pantheon and everything else...and our class is a couple blocks from the Pantheon. We see it on our walk everyday to class. It is just unbelieveable how amazing and massive these buildings are. Its crazy to think whoever carved all of that. It makes you appreciate much more after seeing all of this art and history. Definately look up the sights online and see what Im talking about!
Things are so different here. Italians are very relaxed and never in a hurry. They take naps during the day and everything shuts down from about 2-6pm...I think the U.S. should take lessons! They stay up quite late. We were getting ice cream at 2am the first night we got here and little kids and elderly couples were just out walking around...definately my kind of place. They also respect alcohol here also...people dont drink to get drunk or act stupid or anything...another thing we should learn:) We are here in Rome for 2 1/2 weeks. It seems like that would be a long time, but I feel like we cant do enough in one day. There is way too much to do and see here. I have only been here for two days, but if feels like at least a week. The days seem so long and we pack so much into every minute. We are probably going to travel this weekend, we just arent positive to where yet. We want to see the Island of Capri, Piza, Florence, Venice...there is too much to do! I am already taking a ton of pictures and cant wait to develop them at home.
Our living situation worked out quite well. We are in brand new appartments right behind the Vatican...which surprisingly I havent seen yet. They are all done in Ikea...which is kinda funny, but nothing has ever been used before, so its really nice. I feel like I have ten million things to say, but just cant fit it all in! I am going to try and write updates frequently, but of course we are always running around somewhere. I think I covered about everything...if not Im sure I will write it in my next journal. Hope everyone is doing well and send me an email to say hi! Love, Jess More thumbnails ...
