We had prepared for our "road of bones" for a long time, at least I had tried to prepare mentally! Jess' description of the "sense of human isolation as awe-inspiring" was to me more like terrifying. I feel as if I've been a part of adventure before... I did skydive my first day ever in the US, I've conquered the "air chair", and I have been a part of sinking as well as rescuing ski boats during a storm on Lake Powell :) However today, we literally did not see any signs of human life for about 4-6 hours and I kept thinking " what would happen if we go down...we will melt away here and no one will find us". OK a little dramatic but still...after a while I voiced my concerns to Jess who then started talking about space blankets and how we were more than well prepared if something happened...
Although I was literally on the edge all day today, it was worth every second. This part of Baja truly offers amazing vistas and our pictures do not make them justice but I will try to upload some more in this post to give you a feel for what it was like. The deep blue see against almost black rock on one side and then just mountains towering over you on the other...spectacular.
As Jess already mentioned we had the adrenaline pumping most of the day and the sense of victory and relief once we reached the Bay of LA was enormous. I was so proud of Jess as well, he is a great partner and such a good motorcycle rider ! It took so much skill and precision to ride the road we were on today, I am truly amazed!
...and we never needed the space blankets!
Here are some more pics!

Who needs reality TV?
This whole blog thing is working out so well, we are all able to feel like we are experiencing the adventure right along with you, instead of waiting to hear about it when you return! The pictures are great!
It's like the Amazing Race, but without the race...or the bickering!
Love you guys!

The photos are great, Malin. Just a wee bit of advice...never say 'never again.' That might just rise up and bite you in the bum! I think I would share your thoughts of melting away and not ever being found.

Hi Malin!
Road of Bones sounds so scary! I'm so glad you guys are having a good time. Miles and I wish we were doing it with you guys! I bet you two are getting ready to take the ferry to Mexico proper. It's probably pretty nice to be on a boat rather than a bike for a little while. Have a blast and keep us updated! It makes us feel like we are there with you! Love you, Julie
