Where I stayed
Early start the next day for the bus to Wanaka, it wasn't too long a drive but its really beautiful so we stopped for quite a few walks and pictures, so we got into Wanaka in the afternoon, it is such a postcard town with a lake and snow topped mountains as its backdrop. We wondered around the town for a while and then had supper and an early night, but it turned out not to be such an early night as we were in a dorm with Emma, Anna and Hannah and we stayed up really late swapping stories, I havent laughed so hard in ages
Next morning we set off for Queenstown, a bit sad because its the last bit of Kiwi Experience and the last few days together, but also exciting because we have heard so much about Queenstown and some of the other buses would be catching us up quite soon. We all checked in then went to explore and do some shopping and then we all got ready to go out. It was a really funny evening, which ended in World Bar which is so much fun and you buy shots in teapots!
We were soon regretting having such a good night when we were up at 7 the next morning with Emma to go on our day trip to Milford Sound, it was one of the longest days ever, 4 hours to the boat, 2 and a half hours on the boat then 4 hours back, we didnt get back until 8 in the evening. It was definitely worth it though, despite the pouring rain Milford Sound was amazing, it was so huge and had amazing waterfalls all over the place. We also stopped at an underwater observatory which was amazing, you can go 10metres under the water and watch the natural coral reef thats developed in the sound, there were so many brightly coloured fish and black coral which is really rare. When we got back Kate and I fell asleep.
Yesterday we woke up early for Kate and Charlotte to do their canyon swings, it was really funny to watch, they were so scared, it really is a massive drop and you just have to jump off this little platform. We celebrated by going for a legendary FERGBURGER it was the most amazing thing in the whole world, a burger the size of your head pretty much. Then another night out last night with lots of people who have arrived from our last bus so that was really fun.
Today is our last day in Queenstown already which is really sad, we love it here. We are going to be travelling around Fiji with Anna and Emma though so that will be really fun and they are off today so it will be strange without them, we have an early bus to Kaikoura in the morning but I think we will be dragged out tonight anyway for our last night. Over and Out.
