Oh dear...after 3 days in Kathmandu CITY and a day in Bangkok we are all hot, cranky, tired of the crowds, hagglers, shopping and are all craving the peace and tranquility that the Himalayas gave us! It's quite interesting that for the two weeks we were trekking none of us squabbled, got niggly with each other,or lost their cool! A few days back in the hustle and bustle and we are ready to strangle each other!

We aren't the only ones who feel that way...we've met other travelers who have felt the same way
Tomorrow we will go to a water fun park..bit like a dream/water/movie world rolled into one...maybe that will simmer our tempers!

We had a wonderful experience at the Sunrise orphanage on Friday..the children were all so beautiful and warm..they were keen to be with us and with 74 children and 8 or so carers they had to be super organized. I wish we were able to bring heaps more clothes, presents, medical supplies etc than what we did,
There was a small garden and courtyard area for them all to play in. All the children had to be up by 5.30am for 15min of meditation before going to school. They were responsible for washing their own clothes, having their uniforms clean..they slept 6-8 a room and a small section each to house their li
Iimited belongings. Dal baht (rice, lentil soup, perhaps some veggies,)for brekky and dinner,
And meat only 2 times a week. The children seemed very happy and they had to learn to care and help each other. It was humbling to visit the orphanage and we ALL had better than expected feelings about our visit, which wasn't long enough. For anyone that is interested you can volunteer there and stay for up to 3weeks helping out..there were 2girls there when we visited.
What we did as a family(along with your help)to raise money for them is nothing compared to the wonderful carers who devote their lives full time to helping these children in need.

I have taken heaps of photos, some videos etc of our experiences this whole trip to share with anyone who is interested!

Back to Oz on Thursday...gee the holiday has gone so quickly and I can't believe something I have desired for so long in taking Jes n Chels to Nepal to trek to Base camp, has now so rapidly come and gone.Once we get back to Oz it will feel like it was all just a dream..thank god for photos and memories!

See you all soon,

A DREAM COME TRUE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not only will Jes & Chels CONTINUE the memory of this journey, they will be given an incentive to journey onto other greater feats, thanks to the well upbringing that you & Neal have given them as parents..
Should we all follow such an example, this world of ours would be much nicer to live in, less wars, less greed & more experiences of what The Good Lord Above has given us in strengths within & our small PLANET....
Looking forward to seeing the photos & sharing your journey...
My prayers go out to you FAMILY COULSON...........CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Awesome news that you have seen and done so much, and that you haven't strangled each other. The class has missed you and we look forward to seeing you and hearing these tales when you get home.
