Hi everyone,
At 2.45pm melbourne time on the 11/9/11 Jesse(aged 11yrs)and Chelsea(9years)Coulson made it to Everest Base camp in Nepal!!YIPPEE!!! It was a really long day starting at 5.30am from Lobuche..2.15hr to Gorak Shep at 5120m..then another 2 hrs to Base camp and returning to Gorak Shep by 2.00pm.

I must say i am a very proud mum as the kids took everything in their stride over the past 9 days...squat toilets, no electricity, freezing conditions, rice and noodles, noodles and rice, stepping over and around rocks, ice, glacier morraines, Yak poo, altitude and very basic teahouses.

Jesse would like to say that he made it half an hour before the rest of us! and has proceeded to blitz his way back down the trail today.

At base camp we were lucky enough to meet a japanese solo climber who will attempt to summit without O2...we saw his tents and team whilst at base camp and were befriended by his film crew the days preceeding our arrival at base camp.

Unfortunately it snowed overnight and this morning so we couldnt climb Kala Pattar 5550m to get the great 360 views of the peaks...we are now on our way down.

So now I can officially say that jesse and chelsea are the youngest Australians to have reached Everest Base camp in both nepal and Tibet...and Chelsea would like to say that at 9 yrs she IS the youngest!!!

Yippee and we have also managed to raise over $4000 for Sunrise Childrens Association as well.

Thanks to all that have donated and supported us with encouragement and donations.

Neal,Sylvie,Jesse, and Chelsea Coulson xxxxxx  YIPPEE..WE ARE STOKED!!

So proud of the family Coulsons, you ALL did so well...
Am so pleased to be your Aunt (Dodah Noami) and more so,

Now there are 4 new 9/11 survivors in the family - Nepal instead of New York
