Jetstar cattle class Mel bkk but we got 8 seats b/n 4 thank goodness.Have to take adv of being airline staff except what a bummer that both our kids get airsick!Needless to say half way thru the flight Chelsea starts to feel sick..even with kwells she proceeded to throw up for the rest of the trip..9 times to be exact, and oh that's right...twice whilst going thru Bkk airport! But didn't end there..she continued the next day flying Bkk to Kathmandu,to the point where I was sure there was something more amiss, particularly when she started saying her fingers were all stiff n straight n she couldn't bend them!sitting waiting for our bags to arrive with her clutching a sick bag saying HELP ME with fingers looking like Edward scissorhands,I must say a brief wave of panic did sweep over me.Luckily after vomit no12 she seemed to become her old self and I can only conclude she had had cramps in her fingers from clutching the sick bag so tight!

time differences are fun..being 4.15hrs behind Oz, the kids(and thus us too)have been awake by 3am and lying there tossing from one side to another. lots of practise for altitude tho cos vivid dreams n fitful sleeps are one of the symptoms of AMS.As is vomiting and nausea so Chels will be leagues ahead of us on that score! so this morning we were out bright and early by 6.30am. Walking the streets of Thamel with shops closed and few people about was heaps nicer than a few hours later with all the motor bikes, cycles, cows, dogs, people, ducks, chickens, etc to compete with.We weaved our way thru the small streets to get to Swayambunath..a Buddhist temple high on a hill on the outskirts of the city. Also known as the monkey temple because of the many that wandered around the precinct. With a large white stupa n gold colored spire complete with the painted eyes of Buddha,it is quite an impressive sight. Climbing the steep stone steps to the top will reward you with great views over the Kathmandu valley. The temples inside reminded us of the monasteries in Tibet,as did the monks who tended them.

Next stop was the Natural History museum. Quite quirky (Chels reckons unusual,Jes says disturbing!)complete with plenty of stuffed animals found in Nepal..judging by what looked like hunting trophies I guess there are now a few less animals found in the wild! Complete with an 8 legged baby lamb suspended in formalin and pictures of a human swallowed up by a python(the next picture shows the opened python with half of the body revealed!)I've taken photos of these to show you all! Reminds me of the photo I took at a croc museum in Borneo of a human that had been eaten by one..nothing like having graphic displays of wildlife at it's best!

my God, i'd be thinking all sorts of nasty diagnoses with those hands, as if waiting for bags isn't enough. i think you need more serious Stemitil, meditation or serious knocking out, not youi - chels!!
