The trip up the mountain was long and winding, full of dust, diesel fumes and beautiful views. I am very thankful to have had a ride on a Jeepney as walking up the hill, especially with our luggage and supplies, would have been very difficult. When we arrived at the top of the mountain we unloaded our luggage and supplies and walked to the church where we were to stay. We were greeted there by the tribe a nice dinner and a wonderful worship service that went late into the night. We spent the night upstairs in a room behind the church on milk bag mats. It was not nearly as comfortable as our hotel beds, so some of us weren't able to get much sleep.
In the morning we were provided with a lovely breakfast of fresh pork (the tribe slaughtered their best pig for us). We handed out flip-flops and bags with toiletry supplies and the mats that we slept on. Then we had another worship and prayer service before we headed back down the mountain.
