Today we have to leave this wonderful country as Chinese new year demands our presence back in Hong Kong, or actually in Taiwan, as the whole family will go there to celebrate the new lunar year. But not before we take a last spin around the town of Siem Reap. Outside we find the tuk tuk driver from yesterday and ask him to drive us around the town for an hour or so. He driver us through the chaotic traffic and brings us to the river side where we see the houses build on stilts hanging partly over the water and the contrasting gates to the royal palace.

Siem Reap is not a pretty town by all means, dusty dirty and poor. But it feels safe and friendly and it is the base for exploring the magic of the Angkor temples. It has been an experience for us and we are glad that we had the opportunity to help the people at the Sala Bai hotel out with our stay and donations.

Our way back was not the most comfortable or shortest, but it was the cheapest way to fly. We first hopped to KL from where we started our Asian peninsula trip, and from there we hopped back to the welcoming chaos of Hong Kong where our first point of businesses was a roast pork rice form Tai Hing downstairs.
