Where I stayed
Room Mate Emma
But we came all the way, so we had to find the restaurant 'China Garden'. We managed to park the car and had to walk a bit before we got to the restaurant. We ordered some basic Chinese dishes. The food was of mediocre quality, but enough to satisfy Linda's craving. If this is the highest ranked Chinese restaurant in the Valencia region, I would not want to think about the others.
Anyhow, we continued onwards to Barcelona, mostly on the Auto Pista (toll road). It was raining most of the way, so the scenery was a bit gray and druely. We reached Barcelona, and our funky hotel 'Room Mate Emma' around seven o clock. We found this hotel in a magazine and it appealed to us because of its modern and funky look. It really looks as funky as it did in the magazine. It has a strong 'Star Ship Enterprise' look to it. We checked in and brought our suitcases upstairs. We had to change into some warmer clothes as Barcelona was only around 20 degrees Celsius and we were wearing 40 degrees Celsius outfits. After changing we headed out to the SANTS station. Here we said goodbye to our golf as we returned it to Europcar. Our driving through Spain is done (for now). We drove close to 3500 KM between Marseilles and Barcelona, so I guess we took a bit of a detour.
After returning the car we took the subway back to the neighborhood of the hotel. Here we found Alba Granados, a restaurant which was recommended to us by the receptionist. It was a bit more classy than we had in mind, but it the food was very nice. I tried some authentic Catalan dishes, monkfish with white beans, and spinach and goat cheese salad. The monk fish could have some more taste to it, but the salad was great. As we walked back to the hotel we both felt that Barcelona has a really good atmosphere to it. Tomorrow we'll do some sightseeing.
