We did not feel like shopping anymore, as we cant bring anything with us in our suitcases anyways. We did not go up any of the landmarks, I thought why not go to the one with the best view of them all, Montparnasse tower. It's an ugly 56 story high building, around 200 meters. In most cities this would not even see daylight. But here it's the highest structure in town, and it does have the best view of the city (apart from the Sacre Coeur). So we headed out, first to get some food to fuel the day. We walked a couple of blocks from the Hotel and found a typical Parisian Bistro. This must be a good place to eat, as they don't have an English menu, and we are the only tourists in the building. We were just in time for lunch, so Linda had a lovely duck breast, and I had a roullade. Simple honest and good food served with the typical Parisian attitude.
After lunch we hopped on the bus, off to Montparnasse. There was not much to see on this route, and upstairs we had to dodge the branches as the bus skimmed the trees. We also found ourself covered with little white flies which came down from the trees. We reached the tower and got our tickets. Hardly any queues here, just the way we like it. Upstairs we enjoyed the views of Paris, and shot some nice and funny pictures.
Downstairs we were wondering what to do next, as the neighborhood does not have many attractions. Then we walked into a movie theater to use the bathroom and get some drinks. Ad-hoc we decided to catch the movie Inception (Leonardo di Caprio) as this was just about to start in 20 minutes, brilliant. Luckily they show the original versions (in English) in this theater. The movie was great, but some details just don't make much sense, yet good entertainment.
After the movie it was time for some more food. We found a Brussels mussels place across the street where we both enjoyed some very nice mussels and of course Belgian beer.
After dinner we took the subway back to the Hotel, and enjoyed our evening together. Tomorrow we are off to Marseilles...
