Where I stayed
We reached our Hotel in Las Vegas in the evening. We give the brand new City Center Aria a try this time. The complex looks like a typical Hong Kong mall, or modern airport. Not too attractive to me, but Linda feels right at home. Not that she likes it better than the theme hotels that we are used to, but its all very familiar. We got a room on the 17th floor with a view of the strip and the Vdara and Mandarin, also City Center right in front of us.
After check in we headed down for a bite in the sports bar and then off to bed. The next morning we woke up and made a sandwich breakfast in our room. In the morning we checked mails, uploaded photos to facebook and updated the blog. For lunch we headed out into 'town'. We walked around the casinos and had some noodles in 'Noodles' at the Bellagio.
The next morning we were tasked with the job to decide where to go next. As a tropical storm is roaming around New Orleans, our initial planned destination, we decided not to go there. Why head out to the rain whilst there are so many other options. After some research on tripadvisor, google and expedia we decided to go to Mexico. Neither of us have ever been there, so we thought.. why not.
After some research we booked our flights and hotel. Before we knew it we had to rush out to make it in time for our movie reservation. We bought tickets for a matinée show of Sex & the City 2 as we did not get the chance to catch that one yet, and it is way too hot in Vegas to walk about during daytime. It was a few minutes before the movie started when we entered the theater which was empty except for one other person. We did not expect the movie to last as long as it did, and we had to leave about half an hour before it finished as we had tickets for the show 'Jersey Boys' at the Palazzo.
We scrambled out of the movie theater to catch a cab. As, in Vegas, cabs are not allowed to pick up people on the strip, we had to rush to the hotel across the street and ran through the casino to the lobby to get our cab. We were just in time (again) for the show, and as everything in life happens for a reason, we got upgraded to front row seats. The show was amazing, and the front row seats made it extra special.
