Another day in the Town

In the morning we took care of some 'admin' things, like booking a hotel for our stay at Pismo (California). Later we took a walk along the sea front to the touristic 'Gastown' district. We saw the Olympic cauldron and the new convention center. I like the way the downtown area is architected. Especially how the new structures highlight the older buildings. For lunch, we met up with Oscar, Anita and Catherine (another old school friend of Linda) and had a little highschool reunion. In the afternoon we tried renting a boat to boat around the harbor, but unfortunately they were all taken, so we decided to go to Grouse Mountain. Arriving there we found that a ticket up the cable car costs a stunning $40 pp, absolutely ridiculous, so we just took a photo and headed out to the lighthouse park. This is a nice forest area with, of course, a little lighthouse. We hiked a bit through the park and enjoyed the views. For dinner we went to the Richmond district where there is a large concentration of Chinese immigrants. We had a delicious Shanghainese dinner. After dinner we headed out to a night market. Here we regretted having dinner before, as the market had a food court filled with nice snacks from all over china. After an enjoyable evening we said goodbye to Anita and Oscar and headed back to the Hotel where we started packing and...
