. Quite interesting, but we would have to research this a bit more before we go and buy some supplements.
Before our dinner we watched a magic show by Ray Shank, he did perform in Vegas before. The show was very good and he combined comedy with magic, He did some classic tricks like sawing a woman in two halves. We had our dinner at the Waterfall Bistro restaurant on the 10h floor of our floating resort hotel. We saw some whales outside during our dinner as the ship made its way to Ketchikan. Later in the evening we checked out a 'salsa' party in the main dance club (Cosmo). They started out with salsa lessons, similar to the ones that they give at Elbow Beach hotel in Bermuda before the evening starts, but thereafter they did not play any salsa to dance to. Instead they played some Latin influenced dance music. We successfully managed to resist the Dessert Extravaganza served at the Cosmo and off we went to have our beauty sleep.
Now this is in the middle of nowhere, there are around 800 people living in Hoonah (Icy Strait), and the ships can't even dock there. They have to anchor in the bay and bring the shuttle boats (live boats) out to bring the guests to shore. They can only accommodate one ship a day, which is a good thing because the infrastructure can barely handle that. Around noon we took our lifeboat out to shore for our kayak trip. There was a bit of wind and it was colder than the day before, but luckily still dry and sunny. The Kayak trip was good fun, we did not see as much wildlife as we expected, but it was good exercise. We did see a lot of eagles though. After the kayak trip we treated ourselves to some local seafood. They do know how to squeeze dollars out of their guests here. 3 pieces of deep fried shrimp and some fries for $ 16,- absurd, but maybe a bit cheaper than lunch on Bermuda. Back on the ship we had a tour of the galleys of the ship. We watched the food 'factory' and learned how they serve 2000 people every day. Thereafter we had a consultation with the fitness instructors on detoxification
