The evening is 'Formal Night' so we are dressing up again, This will be our second dinner at the Olympic restaurant and we are looking forward to trying some more of the dishes on the menu.
We woke up in Ketchikan Alaska. Our useless broadband Internet connection from ReadyBroadband is still not working, so we bought an hour of Internet from one of the shore based hot-spots. After reading our facebook and emails we headed out to the buffet to get a quick breakfast as we had to hurry down to the pier where we were met by the guide of Snorkeling Alaska. A short bus ride took us to the dive-shop. Here we squeezed ourselves in a 7mm wet-suit with hoody and Booties. Yes we were going out into the Alaskan waters. The temperature of the water was about 55F which is not too bad. Again we have a wonderful day with lots of sunshine and blue skies, You would almost think you were on some Caribbean island. We went out to another bus which brought us to the dive site, Mountain Point, where we entered the chilly waters. It was not too cold with the thick wet-suit, hoody and gloves. After an hour and a bit we came out of the water where we saw some interesting Alaskan sea life. Lots of jellyfish, all sort of star-fish and schools of small salmon and other fishies. Back in town we roamed the small town of Ketchikan and had a small lunch at the Fish Shop. We shared a 4 way preparation of Salmon and some fish cakes, very tasty. On the way back to the Ship, Linda found a popcorn shop and was pulled in by the smell of corn and butter. We ended up buying a big bag of sweet and salty popcorn.
