At the airport in Chicago waiting for our connection to Anchorage (another 7 hours leg). We left Bermuda behind us and woke up at the dawn of day. Why do these airlines have to leave so bloody early in the morning?! Linda managed to divide all our belongings for the coming months across two carefully weighted 23kg suitcases, a sports bag and two carry-ons, quite an achievement.
The fights so far are the usual American Airlines dramas. We have gotten so used
to confusion and chaos around our round-the-world tickets by now. At the Bermuda airport the AA representative could not print our boarding passes for the Miami-Chicago-Anchorage flights (as these are part of another ticket). So we went to the customer service desk at Miami airport to get these, if only things would be so simple. The lady behind the counter spend more than an hour fiddling around in the system and finally got us two business class boarding passes for Miami to Chicago, but the Chicago to Anchorage part she could not figure out. In the lounge we tried our luck at the admirals-club ticketing desk, and surprise, what the lady from customer service
could not do, she did in 10 minutes, Don't ask us why..
Anyhow, we got our boarding passes, are half way on our way! We bought a 3G Internet dongle for the laptop and a Sim card for the cell phone, so we are connected to the world again. Off to the gate for 7 hours of AA agony.
