Today we drove to Reading stopping off at Windsor on the way. We saw the changing of the guard at the castle and walked down to Eton. We had English tea, visited a teddy bear shop (at Siggy and Pelly's request) and continued on to Reading in time for tea with an old friend of Chris'.

We arrived in Reading and after trying to find our hotel gave up and went straight to Gill's house for tea. Wow what a lovely tea! We had egg sandwiches, Scottish pancakes with chocolate, rasin cake, scones with cream and jam and lemon pound cake as well as tea, of course!

Chris remenisced with Keith and Gill as the girls and I enjoyed our tea and listened to some of the funny stories of Chris' year in Reading when he was 7 yrs. old.

Finally we found our hotel after tea.

We spent the next day touring about Caversham (in Reading) and seeing the house Chris lived in as well as the parks he played in, the school he attended and the corner store were he bought candy - we had to reinact that - of course! We stopped in at the local church as they were having a fete and lent our support by buying a cake.

Back to our hotel and dinner. Tomorrow we are off to Henely on Avon and Oxford.
