Our first day was spent seeing the Mayday parade and walking up Nevski Prospect to the Hermitage, which was free, since it was the first Thursday of the month. It was wonderful to see the palace. Very neat to walk through the rooms that Nicholas and Alexandra walked through. Siggy really liked it having read a book about Anastasia and therefore knowing the story of the last Tsar's family.

We also saw the church of the spilled blood from afar and resoved to return to visit it another day. (We did return and I have pics that I will post later)

After dinner I wasn't feeling well and as we headed home I got worse. Eventually I knew I wasn't going to make it. As I was about to lose consciousness I got down on the sidewalk and put my head down. At this point, as I felt that it might be apendicitice, someone called an ambulence. Fortunately mom and dad stayed with the girls. I ended up spending 3 days in a hospital.

When I finally got out we really enjoyed our visit. We visited the Fortress of Peter and Paul and walked all over St. Petersberg. I am currenly in Krakow and have been to Minsk and Warsaw. I'm on quite a strict diet and several medications and I'm feeling much better. I will update more soon!
