Today, all the Stagiaieres and Facilitators came chez-moi (my house) to cook. The people arrived at 8:30. Even though we did most of the preparing yesterday, we still didn't eat until 2:30! The menu consisted of salad, chicken, beef, rice and beans. I didn't really help with any food item in particular; because it was my house, I was busy helping everyone find items they needed. After we ate, we started preparing something else! The second "main dish" was something called "ragout"; it's pieces of yam (like boiled potato pieces) covered in a tomatoe-y sauce. They served it with leftovers from the first "meal". Gesh...So much food.

Everyone left around 5:30. The house was a disaster, so I decided to clean up as much as I could and sweep the entire house. (Beninese people love to keep their floors clean.) I did the best I could, but my family ended up cleaning some, serious cleaning; they re-washed ALL the dishes, and poured water and disinfectant all over the back porch/kitchen area.

During our cooking class, the Stagiaiers made plans to meet at the "Roof-top" bar at 9pm. I had 2 people come and get me from my house to walk with me; my family is concerned for me when I'm out during dark. My family to be back by 10, but the 2 people who picked me up talked them into letting me stay out until midnight. J It's soooo weird having a "curfew".
