I have finally arrived in Costa Rica! The flight was pretty short, but I was able to decide which beach I'm going to tomorrow and study a little Spanish, which left my brain the second I tried to speak to someone. Luckily this country loves their tourists so pretty much everyone does speak English, which is definitely helpful now but eventually I'm gonna need to learn Spanish so they will have to stop being so accommodating! So far the first day has been mostly successful. Leo was waiting at the airport for me with a sign with my name on it. He took me to the Maximo Nivel office (the company I will be working with) and I met a few of the staff members...... Ohh, I just heard a martini shaker...may have to cut this blog short and go get a drinky drink!....Well I'll try and finish..Anyways, I dropped off one of my bags at the office and had the taxi driver take me to my hotel. I was trying to reserve a room late last night but couldn't figure out where would be best so my mom offered to get me a room at the Marriott. Well on the map it looked liked it was close to the city center but a $23 cab ride later proved otherwise. The hotel is awesome but it's basically a resort outside of town so its kinda far from other amenities, but I will be able to enjoy a much needed good nights sleep in a private room before I head off to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca on the Caribbean coast where I will be sleeping outside in a hammock or in a dorm with a few other backpackers. Go to www.rockingjs.com. I think that's the place I'll be staying at. Looks fun but hopefully it won't be too crazy. Ohh and my phone does not work thanks to stupid T-mobile people who apparently didn't understand what I meant when I said I wanted an international phone with an international calling plan. Luckily I was able to call my parents on Skype. If you don't have a Skype account you should totally get one. You can talk for free to other Skypers anywhere in the world from your computer. My account name is Jennymg123, so add me as a contact if you sign up. I have been sitting in the hotel lobby talking to my parents for the last 2 hours. So for everyone walking by it looks like I'm talking and laughing at my computer, but whatever.Ohhhh, one more thing, for those looking for pictures, umm there won't be any for a few days because my camera battery died and the charger is in the bag that I left at the office as well as the adapter to upload pics. Did you people really thing everything was gonna go smoothly? Then you obviously don't know my luck. I'm just crossing my fingers that the bus ride to the beach will be sans trouble. I think I'm gonna go get that martini now and then go to bed. My day started at 4 a.m. so I'm exhausted!
