Schildhorn Alps

Hans Reudie hired a people mover so we could all go to the mountains for the day. We brought our jackets in case it was cold but didn't need them after all. It took 4 cable cars to get to the top of the Schildhorn which is where (George Lazzenby's) James Bond 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' was filmed. We saw the excerpts of the film in a lovely cool auditorium.

The highest part we reached was 2,900 meters and there was still some snow so we made a couple of little snow men for our granddaughter Ava. Lou and I got into a snow ball fight which did not end in tears.

The views all around were magnificent, we could see the Jungfrau and the Eiger mountains and some very adventurous parasailers. It was really lovely and fresh up there. We felt lucky we had someone to take us there otherwise it's a part of Switzerland we probably would not have seen and enjoyed. There is also a revolving restaurant up there so you gradually get a 360 view. It's awesome, green, white, alive and very beautiful.
