Gitte and Aage were wonderful hosts and with the help of Sara and Per we enjoyed the best the Danish had to offer including their sunshine, 3 days worth.
Every meal at Gitte's home was a delicious taste tempting treat, she is a fabulous cook. We also had the opportunity to meet Per's parents Johnny and Margreta, also our friends now.
The day with the family in Copenhagen was beautiful, it's such a well planned city encompassing a harbor and lots of space for locals and tourists alike. The Danes enjoy their capital city too and the buildings along the wharf seem to smile down on the people with all their bright coloured buildings. Things to mention: The Royal Palace, unfortunately Princess Mary was at her summer home, the opera house, Danish ice cream hotdogs and the beer which we enjoyed in a 300 year old pub! Wow.
Saying goodbye was as difficult as it always is, but we look forward to seeing these lovely friends in our own homes in Australia one day. Gitte and Sara sent us packing with a wonderful selection of Danish delights for the next 3 meals, a lovely surprise!
Des really appreciated the Danish Blue cheese Gitte smuggled into our lunch pack.
