First Thing's First: The Drive
At 3:33 am, we were running on three hours of sleep, Hazelnut coffee, and pure adrenaline.  Katy and I were off and, as our friend Tom Petty would say, into the great wide open unsure of what particular kind of chaos that would undoubtedly ensue.
The drive to Myrtle Beach, a seemingly daunting task, flew by and was filled with antics you could only expect from two theatre chicks in possession of a video camera. Disclaimer: I apologize in advance if we say anything offensive.  However, if you’re following our travels, you’re probably close enough with the two of us for you to know better than to watch our antics in front of small children.  I digress.  The road to a little slice of heaven called Myrtle Beach was a long one, but we did quite a bit of people watching, car dancing, and laughing at our own sleep deprived and caffeine induced jokes.  Needless to say, we kept ourselves entertained.
Myrtle Beach: Is that Your Porn Star Name?

We got to our hotel and immediately needed a cocktail. Libation choice? Long Island Iced Teas.  Upon our arrival in the quaint, oceanic metropolis, we met a gal named Brittany from Warminster, PA.  She was our adorable and hospitable server from our hotel's restaurant, The Patio, and when she asked to see our IDs (because we're so youthful and vivacious, she didn't expect us to be as old as we are) she was near tears.  She had just been confiding in a coworker that she was homesick, and was beside herself when a little piece of home came to her rescue in the form of two curly-haired comedians.
In a week filled with palmetto bugs (aka: mother effing cockroaches THAT FLY), karaoke (hilarious), parasailing (incredible), beach fights (ha...ha...), exploring, and dining (we are now foodies), we made friends we'll treasure for a lifetime.

If you're in Myrtle Beach here's a few things you need to do:

1.) PARASAIL!  Go to Ocean Water Sports and book it.  The staff is incredible and it's family-owned.  Ask for Captain Randy.

2.) Go to Dirty Don's and get the mussels.  They will be the BEST mussels you've EVER had.

3.) Go to Pier 14, twice.  Sit at the bar for one visit and sit on the pier for another.  FANTASTIC oysters!

4.) Go The Patio and have Py make you a Dirty Martini.  Heaven.

5.)  Smile.  This town is full of friendly people from all over, and we had an amazing start to our journey.

Next stop.  Savannah.
