A 20 hour bus journey later (this bus company was more punctual than the other) we arrived in BA, and jumped on another 2 hour bus to San Antonio de Areco. I have to admit that upon arriving we weren't all that enthusiastic. It was a tiny, quiet town and we didn't see anybody on the street. Apart from the dogs. Argentina seems to be overrun with street dogs, the dogs provide an escort service. They will meet you when you leave your hostel/bar/bus and then walk with you until you reach your destination, barking at anything that comes near you and fearlessly chasing cars down the street biting their tyres. It is bizarre. We accrued a gang of 6 dogs in the short walk from the bus station to hostel.

Anyway it just so happened that on Sunday there seemed to be a car show going on with music and food on the green, this made the town considerably more exciting and occupied us for the day. On Monday we went to an estancia (ranch/farm) for the day, called Don Silvano. We did some more horse riding (although much tamer than last time), saw a dance/music show whilst eating lunch (which involved Will and I being pulled up from our table to join in with the tango, predictably disastrous and embarrassing) and a gaucho show on horses. They fed us all the time as well, it was great! We were hoping to stay overnight but because it is off season they aren’t taking in guests so we caught a bus back to BA.
