Where I stayed
So after a long flight (im sure it was 11 hours or something but i really dont remember) we arrived at hong kong SO jet lagged! But as it was morning a few of us thought we'd beat the jet lag and walk around the town and the fishing market. I was sharing a room with Emily, who had already become friends with Callum and Phil (all going to Australia) so it was mostly us four. I remember the weather being so humid and water dripping from the shops because of the air con.. nice...
On the second day our tour guide Leon told us to 'go to the big buddah' (if only accents could be portrayed through writing, although the one in my mind is actually Pete and Geds version of it). So we did. And it was a big Buddha. Thats all i really remember of that.
The next day we went to a fishing village, a market, and that golden palace thing, which im sure was amazing at the time... i do, however, remember going to the bar that night, and i remember talking to pete for the first time and making the agreement that we would do some sort of karaoke. I think i made him promise and everything.
(I think im missing a day out here but it either didnt happen or its not worth mentioning)..
And then the time came to depart from the New Zealand people. I honestly felt a little heartbroken at the airport, id developed a nice little friendship with a guy called Rob and i remember thinking 'why didnt i go to New zealand' as i was sitting there waving goodbye to him... this was soon lightened by the incident whilst us aussie lot were waiting for our flight. I can still picture the scene... waiting to board the plane and i decide to sit on one of the only available seats, and then i think 'oh, better get my passport out now before its too late'.. only to find that my passport was missing. "IVE LOST MY PASSPORT" looking to the guy directly to my left with a concerned look. 'No you havent', he replied. The beginning of a beautiful friendship between me and Ged.
