This morning Hayley had a farewell breakfast at the Polynesian room with all the Disney Characters, so I spent the morning unpacking and checking out the Hotel. Hayley's friend Michelle drove us to the Post office where we sent two large boxes of clothes, memorabilia etc home to Australia. We dropped in to Epcot and after farewelling Michelle and her cousin we took the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Hayley had organised me a Happy Birthday button which I had to wear all day and had many staff members wishing me Happy Birthday! Some loudly!!! Including my age... We visited Mickey and Minnie and watched the 3 o'clock princess parade. Just after the parade an almighty storm broke and it proceeded to rain, rain and rain.... We now own lovely Disney rain ponchos which have been very well used. Hayley showed me around the park and introduced me to all her work mates and friends
For dinner we ate at the Liberty Tree Restaurant in Liberty square where we enjoyed a traditional thanksgiving family meal. Because Disney is a no alcohol park, I enjoyed my meal with a glass of Coca Cola. Dessert was brought out with a flaming candle and many waiters and waitresses singing a birthday song quite loudly! Bit embarrassing.... The highlights of the night were the Magic Memories and You display and Wishes celebrations at Cinderellas Castle which includes fireworks, light display and singing. Quite a few tears shed with farewells to friends made over the past 12 months. I left Hayley with her friends for the last night and went home to bed with aching feet and legs.
This morning Hayley arrived with her packed bag and was very upset at having said goodbye to all her friends.:( We caught a taxi to Universal Studios and decided to buy the Universal express Plus pass to both Universal parks. The Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. The pass allows you to jump to the front of the line, sometimes skipping what can be an up to 1 hour wait in line at the popular rides. Well worth the extra $60 to not waste your day waiting in a boring line. Unfortunately the heavens opened up again after we had visited Hogwarts Castle and we proceeded to get very wet once again. Since we were already wet we decided to go and do some of the water themed rides and if possible actually got even wetter!
Highlights of the day were of course, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
