Quite a few people got off the train at Kranji, but once I figured out that I was on the wrong side - the racetrack side - of the station, I was on my own for the 20 minute walk to the cemetery.
Sat on the hill inside thinking about peace and war and all the souls who went Home without going home.
I am now sitting at a market near the station waiting for some Korean food - decided to opt out of the Fresh Intestine & Prawn Noodle......the kimchi is hot but I'm starting to not taste the chili - I can see it but it's just not having much effect on my taste buds
heading back to Bugis now. Everything people say about public transport in Singapore is true - it IS clean, well-organised, safe and convenient.
Sat in our nook having pre-drinks drinks and watching the street before heading out to The Crazy Elephant for jam session night. A great night once again, dancing and chatting to Kamal the bassist, an Indonesian, in the breaks. Kamal was talking about the union in Oz and how he has wanted to play here but has been unable. He has played at The Crazy E for 19 years.
When we left a couple of rickshaw drivers called to us, so we capitulated and got in one each - they rode us home through the 3am Singapore streets, peddling through red lights and shouting and laughing as we were....such fun!
