It was soooo great yesterday when I finished class and got into the car - no uni for a month!
My whole body is smiling.
We can see the lights of Bangkok now.....it's about 5 am.
8am; we are sitting in Burger King (yuk), but delicious omelette - having wandered around a bit and changed some money.
Brenden and I have decided to call this trip 'They'll be Comin' Round The Mountain When They Come', or Jenni and Brenden's Splendiferous Adventure.
We have realised that we forgot to bring Macbeth, which we were going to read to each other in the balmy mountain evenings. We'll make up stuff instead.
Our packs are WAAAY too heavy - B's is around 10kg's and mine is 13 and that's without water. We'll have to do some serious pruning in Pokhara. Brenden is also journalling, he just asked me if the ice-cream Shell gave us is dree-frized....indeed it is Brendo, indeed it is. It's neopolitan astronaut food; we'll eat it when the time is right. At Melbourne airport Shell gave us an Aussie survival pack including a gum leaf, some vegemite and a redhead match, which I had to dig out of my pack and relinquish to airport officialdom. Tracey remembered to bring Karleigh's miniature cricket bat, so we can play an over or two on the Pass (if Brenden is game enough to face a full toss)
Here at the airport we just exchanged $25 USD for 814 baht. Our breakfast was 560 baht, so we've got enough left for water but Brendo, the King of Sensible doesn't want to buy it 'cos we'll get it free on the plane. In Melbourne I changed $600 AUD into $484 USD.
Now I've got marshmallows in my head from thinking about numbers.
