Today has been very, very long. We went to visit the Australian War Memorial, which was awesome! It has beautiful architecture and there are names of every soldier who fought and died for their country. However, none of the names have a rank so they are all considered equal, I think that's awesome because everyone who fights for their country should have equal respect as every other. Our tour guide Doug was really nice but I think it would have been nice to walk around ourselves in order to see everything.

After the memorial we went to the Australian National Gallery. There are so many lovely works of art inside and outside of the building. At first, Gwyn showed us some arboriginal architecture and then our other tour guide (can't remember her name/:) showed us other gorgeous paintings and oil-based paintings that really capture the way Australians saw the world in their time. The Ned Kelly serious was pretty cool, and it looked very modern even though it was painted in the 1930-40s. It's very abstract and it's cool how the artist, Sydney Noland, presents each scene through the eyes of Ned Kelly, and how he was still so brave and continued to stand for what he believed in until the day he died (November 11, 1880).

Tomorrow we go to the Australian embassy for another tour and then we get a free day! Most likely I will be going on a Segway tour of Canberra!!
