Greetings from Syracuse,
After a long 10 hour drive from northern New Hampshire, we arrived at our new campsite in a small town outside of Syracuse called Red Creek. It rained all day long. We left in the evening to meet my cousins Barry and Vivian down in Vestal. After catching up with each other, we went out for Italian food. We had some good laughs and enjoyed exchanging stories of where we have been. They travel a lot also and had some pointers for us for the upcoming states we will visit. The night ended with a tour of downtown Binghamton. We noticed that some of the streets have horses from a carousel on them and we learned that Binghamton is the carousel capital of the world. We also saw the hospital Barry works in. He is in charge of taking care of the premature babies.
The next day we went to downtown Syracuse and met with Jenn's cousins Arthur and Phyllis. Phyllis made us a hearty and tasty lunch and then we jumped in their car for a tour of Syracuse. They also took us on a tour of Syracuse University where they used to work. We got back and I learned a thing or two about gardening when Arthur took me on a tour of his garden; he also gave us a bag full of fresh grown garlic and shallots. They made me a deal that if I fixed their computer they would refill my wine glass. Everyone got to drink wine that night. Their daughter Barbara with her husband Dave and their sons Dan and Big Ben came over for a turkey dinner. We had a lot of fun and they enjoy singing songs at the dinner table. Jenn and I did not know the songs they sang and so they were spared my lack of singing abilities. On the road again, Love Dave & Jenn
