We woke up to clear, blue skies, a treat in Nanxi! We treated ourselves to a late breakfast. Then, we came back to do laundry and catch up on e-mail and other things. Mr. O got a skype call from his brother, Jim, in Illinois. When the video popped up on the computer screen, Mr. O saw his great-niece and nephew, Paige and Gregory! They had just arrived to spend a week with their grandparents. They were very interested in China and the trip. It was good to see them.

We had visitors from Mianyang today, Ping and her husband, Mao. Ms. Long met them two years ago when she was here. Ping and Ms. Long became good friends. Ping teaches English, and Mao teaches Chinese at a junior school in Mianyang. Our principal, Mr. Wright, and his wife stayed with them several years ago. Frank joined us for lunch at the high school. After a rest from the five hour drive here, Ping, Mao, and Ms. Long did a walking tour of the Nanxi. Mr. O joined them to have dinner at a local restaurant. It was good to renew and make new friendships.

From the restaurant we walked a short distance to high school to see some of the second night of the singing competition, featuring the Junior 2 students. The weather was clear and perfect. It was nice to see the moon! Frank's teacher group, conducted by Principal Lin, performed well. We called it an early night, as we would be leaving early Sunday morning to see the Bamboo Sea!
