Hi all,
We were originally going to go to the Blue Mountains camping this weekend but after reading a travel article we decided to head south to explore the NSW coast and Capital Region.
Driving 2hrs south of Sydney we saw some amazing cliff top sea views, a pod of Dolphins, rolling hills and forests - quite different to the Northern NSW coast we'd seen on the way down.
We tried our luck fishing at Jervis Bay - a very picturesque town with white sandy beaches - but only managed to catch a few nippers which we threw back - so much for tea!
Back in the van we continued further south to Pebbly beach and spotted some friendly Kangaroos who weren't the least bit bothered by our closeness. We free camped that evening on our way to Canberra and "bush tucker Jonno Reesy" got an excellent camp fire going!
Canberra is the Aussie b*****d child of a Swindon/Milton Keynes marriage. Purpose built to house the Australian Parliament it is also home to the majority of it's civil service. The "Army-esque" style architecture only adds to the blandness of the place (apols if anyone is from there - we loved it really, well... sort of...). Its saving grace was Capital Hill home to Parliament House which provided many photo opportunities....
